Not Just A Home

Maizie

1 min read

A house is a house

But a home is a home

Two similar things

And yet, only one has that shalom

We each have that dream

One big dream

To have a desired place to have

And one to call a place to sleep

It’s something we want for you and me

Just enough space for the creations we make

We sometimes forget one little thing

What does “home” really mean to us?

Is it having beautiful decor all around?

A Horse Gone Wild

Maizie

2 min read

The horses in the stable went wild; they knew of the coming storm. They tried kicking down their stalls and calling out for their owners…yet nobody came to their rescue.

They all were born in this barn and weren’t always taken care of. They were fed hay once in a while but never got apples. They drank water, but it didn’t look clear or clean. They would do their business, yet nobody scooped it up....

The Cycle Of 12 Months

Maizie

1 min read

January begins with a new beginning

It has some new transitions

That become transparent

February has reflection

That goes in a certain direction

No, I don’t mean the weather connections

More so, the past imperfections

March prepares for rebirth

It’s something that is loved by the Earth

When one is born, others have mirth

It’s something that has a lot of worth

And as March begins to end

April ...

An Illuminating Path

Maizie

When the streetlights come on

I think of denouement

How the old chapter is done

And how the new chapter has begun

As I look back on all the life before me

I stare at the lights that I am grateful to see

And as the road lays beneath me

The streetlights come on…one by one

The night is as black as Snow White’s hair

The air, it seems, has always been fair

And as the glare from each vehicle begins t...

Content Warning: Rape and death

“He will give you death, and you will love him for it” was the last thing I said to Sabrina before she went missing….

She met this guy online who she claimed was her soulmate. Gavin Lambert was his name and he was a very charming boy who was five years older than her and had two criminal records. Sabrina, of course, shrugged it off because she always saw t...

Who Loves Her More?

Maizie

1 min read

Emily White-

Hopelessly devoted to her everlasting love

One who is faithful and kind

The other wears a disguise

She walks through the town

Wearing only a gown

She keeps to herself around

Others who make her frown

All her life

She had been made to please

Everyone but her

She wished she was a cure rather than a curse…

Billy Clinton-

Oh, how he loved her

With ever fiber in his body

He cher...

Inter-Organ Convo

“Time to wake up!” Left Brain said.

“No! Let us sleep in longer!” Right Brain exclaimed.

“We gotta get moving if we want a head start today!”

“You mean, you want a head start for today.”

“Hey, I wasn’t the one who wanted to stay up half past midnight, now, did I?”

“Let me sleep in!”

“No!”

“What’s with all the yelling? I’m tired….” Heart groaned.

Ten Little Children….

Maizie

1 min read

Ten little children hate the food

All of them had the same old mood

They talked big and acted rude

Mom and Dad stood up and asked for two.

Two go in, and one comes out

Still the children choose to pout

Now there are nine children,

One is beaten, the other no longer shouts.

Dad tells the children,

“Now now, young ones, we worked hard

To give you bread & lard…unless, of course,

You’d rather starve...

There’s Always Purpose

Maizie

**The lights go out

_I’m all alone

Abandoned, unfixed,

I feel like an old bone

One person comes

Then another

Nobody bothers to replace me

Nobody bothers to check on me

Food crumbs fall on me

Milk absorbs into the cracks

Dirt doesn’t escape

And the bugs eat through me for the food that is placed

I creak and break

I lost my color

My nails get loose

And yet nobody replaces me

Suddenly, no...

Sculpting Life

Maizie

1 min read

The clay was to become something important

Something diligent, something punctilious

The sculptor’s piece…it should be smooth

It should be art

That’s the beauty of sculpting, isn’t it?

How you can stare at it and talk about it?

Wonder why the sculptor picked such a thing to make

There are certain aspects to sculpting

The material you use

The techniques

The elements….

Many sculptors use this t...
