POEM STARTER
Using twelve stanzas, write a poem about each month of the year.
The Cycle Of 12 Months
January begins with a new beginning
It has some new transitions
That become transparent
February has reflection
That goes in a certain direction
No, I don’t mean the weather connections
More so, the past imperfections
March prepares for rebirth
It’s something that is loved by the Earth
When one is born, others have mirth
It’s something that has a lot of worth
And as March begins to end
April comes again
Which then turns to actualizations
Which is kind of like grammarization
Once April begins to slow
May begins to grow
With radishes creating an entire show
The Lord eyes everything from down below
Then comes June
Where pontoons avoid typhoons
And sing songs that may sound a bit out of tune
As July rolls around
Katydids are found that make a lot of sound
Many things pop up from the ground
And the sun comes out of the clouds
While July transitions to another month
August comes by like a triumph
And summer fun still comes
Going by the rule of thumb
Oh September, how it harvests
Sugarcane seems to sprout the largest
And as the night becomes the darkest
A cat’s eye becomes the sharpest
October’s moon seems to come out
That’s when children seem to shout
Without their candy
What is Halloween supposed to be about?
With October ending very shortly
November takes a toll with being courtly
People seem to know this month as being warmly
And as December begins to near
The beautiful holiday seems to be clear
When St. Nick comes when children may sleep
Then New Year’s Day will come take a peak and another year may seem to leap
