And belonging can hide in many places.

Everyone has a place they belong,

No matter how small or how strange.

Some people belong in sounds,

From singing to dancing to the rhythm of a ball on a court with a harmony of squeaking shoes.

Some like open fields and quite forests, while others prefer a cozy cafe or a busy mall.

For comfort is fleeting.

The pleasure is vain,

I can never quite grasp

The feeling never there

Me alone and invisible

Separate form my family

Last in everything

Unwanted by everyone

Least of all around me

Broken by the past

Needing to cut to feel there

To know I’m human too

When I was a kid it was hard to get along with others

Probably because I was afraid of what others thought about me

Being judged and spoken to

I learned it at a very young age

All the eyes were on me

Waiting for me to talk about something

But if I used the wrong choice of words

I would be not liked

I couldn’t like myself for who I was

And a part of me was kept away like this ...
