The After Life

All in a golden afternoon, under the skies of cloudless blues.

No wonder people dream of here, it’s full of love and cheer!

Remembering those who were lost, it’s a sore, but one we all eventually have to cross.

Here is where i’ll stay, my forever home i will lay....

A day in childlike wonder

A little jay flew up too soon

tumbling down from the sky to you

he began to sigh and croon

singing a song of endless blues

the wind joined the jay’s little tune

thumps joined from the burrows afar

Hares had joined bringing beat

they did not have bones or bars

only did they have strong two feet

among the winds and chrips and cries

a string was plucked with rigor

a lyre lay not to far play...

Golden Lights, Blue Skies

All in a golden afternoon,

Under the skies of cloudless blue,

The rivers carry fresh secrets,

New stories to mesh with time.

Painted in colors of the mind no one seems to see,

In hope, loss, grief and love,

Things people forget to let free

New shapes and sizes and evergreen stages.

Golden lights, blue skies,

It changes and bleeds, day after day.

But the sun still rises,

And the moon still sets....

Golden Afternoon

All in a golden afternoon,

Under the skies of cloudless blue.

Carefree with kids one and two,

Dancing and playing as children do.

Seesaws and swinging,

Laughing and singing,

Sand going flinging,

Ignore the phone ringing.

This is my time to spend with the girls.

Lift them and swing them around in a swirl.

Walk on the sand and pick up some shells.

It drives me insane but let them ring their bells....

the golden day

the morning was brisk

the crisp of the leaves falling down felt like freedom

she knew it was the day

she packed up her things leaving nothing but a hairpin behind

she was going to have a new life

in a new town

and a new beginning where she could breathe

where she could be happy

as she gathers her last pieces of sedimental evidence

she hears footsteps

could it be her brother? no, these were not ju...

Summer

The wind sighs, blowing slowly through the trees

The leaves whisper, telling stories and swapping gossip

The rivers sing gentle lullabies to passing birds spreading life with their waters

The sun smiles down on the earth, sending warm beams down

The stars rehearse, practicing for their dance tonight across the sky

The moon waits til twilight when he can greet his lover the sun

And the children p...

Heart

All in a golden afternoon,

under the skies of cloudless blue

Wings of gold and emerald eyes

Represent both you and I

Love is like an arrow

Always striking true

Whether it harms or aids

Was always up to you

Though your dreams were shattered from lies

I tried hard to show you mine

But a burden it was

To achieve my dream

Your questions never had answers

That I could see

A dove can be precious,

The Day Long Ago

All in a golden afternoon,

under the skies of cloudless blue

That’s where we stood

You and I

As we watched the time

Pass us by,

I still think about that day

Just you and me, by the bay

But little was I to know

That the man you were

was about to go,

The ripples of a fish swum by

Accented in the sunken sky

Yet one soul was left alone

Where once a love of two had shown

For it was then I began to ...

A Summer’s Chill

The slight chill of a summer morning

A sheer sign of dawn, a bitter warning

Foreshadowing something amiss on the rise

I await the days when the rain would pour in

The smell would bring me back In time, a not so distant nostalgia

You were standing in line, I saw on the other side of the loggia

Was it fear or fate that struck me? Perhaps another omen

By fall, we are sitting in a cafe, talking abo...

Las Hug

You stared at me awaiting for my response,

For my muscles to react to your pain.

But I was froze, in my own pain I was froze.

I wanted all with you and now,

Now “all” is just a movie that will repeat on my head.

As something that could happen

In a world that is not ours...
