Chronic

All in a golden afternoon, under the skies of cloudless blue

In a white room

in a small town

in the middle of a shopping center

Half past two

A mother waits for answers

And a son mourns his youth

And I sit next to someone

I’ll never know

But then

I do

Because in a golden afternoon

under the skies of cloudless blue

I met your eyes wide as my arms could comfort you

Because I knew I was going to die but it never felt as true

As it did

On a golden afternoon

outside a dog cries

and flowers bloom

And under these skies of cloudless blue I pray to gods who comdemn us few

In a white room

in a small town

in the middle of a shopping mall

half past two

If I never leave here by your side

Don’t leave me

In that white room

Take my bones

Home to you
