POEM STARTER

‘All in a golden afternoon, under the skies of cloudless blue.’

A day in childlike wonder

A little jay flew up too soon

tumbling down from the sky to you

he began to sigh and croon

singing a song of endless blues

the wind joined the jay’s little tune

thumps joined from the burrows afar

Hares had joined bringing beat

they did not have bones or bars

only did they have strong two feet

among the winds and chrips and cries

a string was plucked with rigor

a lyre lay not to far played by a sorrowful foxes

then in tune the world laid bare

a thousand birds, foxes, and hares

all playing in perfect harmony

then came the question

who started this song for?

the Answer lies with to thy and a jay

and to the grave it goes for eternity.
