A Street Show

A busy city is a big street show

Vast, entertaining, full of life in different ways

Being full of so many things

So many people walking

Often trying to hurry up

Going somewhere

Doing something

From going to work

Finding a new job

Buying something brand new

Renting something real old

Getting candy

Getting tools

Getting clothes

Getting jewels

Getting drinks

Getting whatever

Busy City

Busy City

Among the constant horns that fill the air lies vendors from across every corner.

Red light, yellow light, green take turns at every way.

Crosswalk filled with walkers attending to their way.

The aroma of delightful delectables filled the air.

The ring of the guards’ whistles here and there marked the way for safety.

City goers crowd the street with the sound of chatter and laughter.

City Lights

The thick souls of snow shoes cling to the ground with stiff stubble, making maps of prints. Sam can see exactly where people walk most often, where streetlamp’s and billboard’s rays don’t have as much to shimmer off. They see a print of a dog’s paw, of seemingly a huge man, of a baby stroller, all throwing themselves in different directions. It’s a dot to dot of the geography of a journey, amplif...

Bustle

From the rainwater on the street corners dripping into the drains,

To the steam from the hubs.

Light catching red, strays will walk,

When it catches green, the whole neighborhood is crossing.

A hush mellow yet loud decible chatter scatters across the crosswalks and side streets.

Multiple conversations happening

Many destinations to go in the bustle....

Tale As Old As town

The streets alike like New York City, buildings touching each other

Calling out for a taxi is a a little more harder to reach

Pathways and sidewalks the more you step on

People walking cruising the city

Running to work, running to school

It’s very energetic and people walk fast with adrenaline with each boost of coffee they drink

Restaurants, cafes and bakeries on every corner

High end places ...

Kingdom

Towers like teeth near touching the sky

Lording dark avenues, an endless maze

Of buses, cars, trolleys screeching by

Hungry beasts prowling, their blackened paws graze

The paved roads smeared with debris and scum

Littered bottles and trash caking its lungs.

Then at night do they behold a great kingdom

Of two-legged critters wagging their tongues

Honking their trumpets, wiping their shields,

Swish...

NYC

Nobody stops,

Everybody constantly moving,

Wait in the sidewalk at your own risk.

You can’t get lost,

Order is king.

Rudeness or busyness from locals?

Killers in colorful clothes.

Central Park, a giant escape.

It would take weeks to see it all.

Take care for now, I will be back.

You have my heart to keep....

The Dancers in the City

By the city square

To the stage

a man

invites others towards him

To dance by the food trucks

In tune with his step

The song starts to play

Another man, long sleeves, button shirt

Sweaty. Overweight but keeps up the dance

Young, a job in the city, but never a flirt

Father drops him off, mornings in a trance

Government job but shirt scuffed with dirt

Always late, always rules hes trying to skirt

The City of Dreams

What would you see

in the city of dreams?

A mini sun?

Glowing streets?

Cramped in a world of giants

Giant people, giant buildings,

Giant pizzas, giant prices
