POEM STARTER
Write a descriptive poem which portrays a busy city.
You could use metaphors, imagery, and appeal to the senses, to really capture the feel of a city.
Where To Park
A loud beep in the street
Summers heat as we go far
Big buildings and parks but still I have to park my car
Should’ve took a bus not a car
The traffic
The cars are packed
Many people outside walking trying to go far
We’re shall we go in this place
Name a time I’ll pick the place
The busyness and the talking loud in uppercase
But just in case we get lost in this place
I’ll park my car
Gotta find a spot don’t wanna park to far
Sometimes it’s gets to loud
Hearing the dogs bark
Loud fireworks in the park
The chatter of what’s in and what’s not
The loud yells a scream or a shout
There goes the lady with her awfully green van
Another icecream truck with flavors I couldn’t understand
But in the city it’s a race
A constant run and chase
Busy is the city
And loud are the streets
The gravel and all the new concrete
The city is packed
Sure I’ve said this before
Sometimes there’s 3 houses sold in a day
Last week there were 4
The city is full they’re no way of putting it lightly
But for now I have a date
Remember
Pick the time I’ll pick the place
I put my car in park
Our date?
A picnic in the park
So sure it’s not all bad
We’ll watch the fireworks
And who knows maybe we’ll get icecream
