Laughter trapped in the walls that have watched many children grow up,

Where we breathed innocent air, trapping ladybugs in plastics tubs,

Pictures drawn for fridges back home, planning weddings for our pet gnomes,

Trying hard to learn our abc’s, whilst creating mini homes for fallen bees,

Where boys and girls could be friends, when it was so simple for a relationship to mend,

When painting y...

Happiness That Has Awakened

bananas

1 min read

Stroking my cheek with uttermost softness that I have craved ever since I was an infant, gently outlining features that have grown more profound by bathing in the moonbeams.

Magnifying deep, silky brown freckles that hide under the sadness that my skin has grown tired of. Kissing the cemented frown lines that have been carved onto my face for some time now.

Carefully closing my battered eyelid...

A Pair That See

bananas

1 min read

You have seen too much!

Through those silky, milk chocolate pupils,

Capturing sights, that crawl up to my mind,

Creating images that lay across my my brain.

You show me the world that I have been brought into, yet you don’t hide the brutality of humanity,

Why?

Do you show me the world you wish to experience,

You talk to people without using my mouth,

Laying my emotions across a deep brown ...

Vulnerability, Where Are You?

bananas

1 min read

Are you happy now?

You seek my heart in my dreams,

Grip my concerns with both hands and splatter hope across my anxiety,

For what, I say.

For me to be bouldered down again,

Sobbing into my own apologies,

Shame enveloping me,

No one to dig through my brick walls.

Fearing your arrival, if you ever floated to the surface from a life jacket of a loved one,

I only wish you didn’t make me fe...

My Dearest Confession

bananas

1 min read

Sitting down on my old creaking porch,

With nothing but a light buzz and small glowing torch,

Guiding me through the star maze late at night,

Children creating moonbeam shadows with their kites,

Now that the heat of the summer air has lessened,

I must reveal my hopeful confession,

This life, this is what I have dreamt everyday,

Hoping I would have a warm bed where I lay,

Sharing this f...

When I Look In The Mirror

bananas

1 min read

I cannot see me, in this threatening mirror.

It is not me, no.

This is a window I can see through, a clear, transparent window, as the creature that is staring into my souls on the other side. That is not me.

I’m kind, sweet, full of of life, but this. This creature, who encaptures sweet innocent souls of the young, the colour red ignites from its bones.

This isn’t me. No,

I look in the mirro...

Second Place

bananas

1 min read

Behind the beaming light on the stage,

Is little princess who was written on the second page,

Dreaming when she shall be chosen,

When her mother knight and shining armour will greet her with a potion,

That will make her the light of someone’s day,

That’ll make the people who made her feel unloving, have to pay,

Always the assistant never the boss,

Always the fly but never the wasp,

Alwa...

Our Children

bananas

1 min read

Awake, my sweet children,

We will try and protect you

For our worlds burdens,

You radiate the vulnerability of life,

And we take care of you through our

sleepless nights,

Stay kind and pure, as we bring you into our world, hoping for a perfect violence cure,

We cherish you, sweet children, if only you awake ,

can we save our world from this climate change mistake,

You are our only hope...

Platonic?

bananas

4 min read

“Wait!” I shouted. I knew, this was the moment, that I would lose my best friend. All the hard work into building our friendship structure would be bouldered by three words.

I met him three years ago, when I was lost in my own mind. I had no-one, loneliness was my only friend. Grief was slowly decaying away at my heart, I wanted to be better, stronger in my own mind. But I was weak, limp in my o...

The Beauty Of The Sun

bananas

1 min read

Wandering through the wild land, listening to the birds communicate to eachother, wondering what they’re talking about.

Oh, how the summer is going to be missed.

The trees swaying to the tunes of the wind, the evening sun showering the sky with beautiful shades of summer.

This is what I seek.

Warmth. Happiness. Light.

All year round, we wait, sit patiently until it’s time for the sun to revea...
