Fire and Flames

Telescope

Your eyes were stars

Illuminating my night sky,

And I, selfishly,

Was content in

Admiring their beauty while

Never truly understanding

What they burned for

So many light-years away.

I stared at the constellation they formed

Night after night

Confused and afraid of

Everything I didn’t know.

Yet,

Their gravity pulled at me,

Drawing me in,

Inviting me to face my fear

And learn more about

You.

But I...

Luck Hurts

The fire burns strong,

For some providing warmth,

Allowing vision,

A means to boil water or cook food.

For me it’s a trigger.

A reminder of my past.

My blistered skin - never to fully heal,

Reliving the pain like it was yesterday.

Burning me, layer after layer,

Bubbling my blood.

“You’re lucky to be alive,” they say,

I didn’t realise luck hurt so much.

So when I see a flame,

Dancing innocently,

The Fire Of Faith

I feel a fire burning deep inside of me,

It's difficult for others to see,

It's flame urges me to reach for the sky,

Every flicker gives me the passion and confidence to take chances and continue to try.

Dreams and aspirations fuel this fire, clearing away dark shadows before they spread,

Shining light on the path I have chosen to tread,

With every challenge it grows stronger, fuelling my...

Burning Up

Drinking and smoking are my twin flames

From the moment of drinking to the moment of inhaling

I can not separate the two

For they act as the same a distraction from life

As I wither away another casualty of feeling to much in this world

Taking a shot is a lot easier when you are used to pain

The burn of the liquor slowly erases my own embers

As I let the fire take its course down my throat ...

Thaw

Fire stamped out

But deep in me

An ember burning

I can’t see

Now it’s growing

Warming me

Ready to light

A power in me...

Ashes

We all burn out.

Eventually.

We burn bright.

We are transcendent.

Drivin by golden flames of passion.

Flames that hungrily lick the soles of our feet,

Warming us from the inside out.

We burn bright.

We are magnificent.

A sight to behold.

Potential to be ignited.

But.

We will run out of fuel.

Eventually.

All beautiful things come to an end.

Everything runs it’s course.

Eventually.

Fire Child

Walk through the fire

The flames will only burn you if you fear the fire

The burn only hurts if your afraid of the pain

You must walk into your fears

Embrace your tears

Burn every part of yourself to the ground

What matters will still be around

Around we go running from the flames

Afraid the fire will hurt

We must become the ashes

To understand the burn

There’s beauty in new beginnings

Fire, Flames, Water & Waves

I was the fire, but you were the flames.

I burned until they extinguished me,

but you managed to stay, remain.

You were the water, but I was the waves,

your plans were the winds, the Moon,

I depended on them, needed them, craved-

You were the air, but I was the wind,

I was strong, but you were well-needed,

they had lungs for you, but for me, broken skin.

I was the fire, but you were the flames,...

Sticks, Tears And Flames.

My emotions burst into flames,

Ablaze right before my eyes,

Crisping my brain to ash black,

As I feel I might be going insane.

The fire devours at me,

And jerks tears from my sockets,

My entire body ripple with jitters,

My thoughts like the scattering embers.

Overwhelmed is all I can feel,

And all I can do is curse myself,

For my reaction being so fierce,

Over something so friendly.

I hate this...

Too Hot

Heed my warning: those who tempt the flames get burnt

Those who attempt to outshine the sun will soon learn their worth

Those who fly too high will often meet the earth

For a wingless bird is no more than nutrients for humble worms

You, my Icarus, my gift, I took you under my wing

But the time has come, where you must soar and sing

We shall be free to discover all sorts of things

Free to discover...
