Samantha Evans

Samantha Evans

I’m here to write poems | I’m 14 | I’m okay now I just write about the past a lot and also about some dark things that never happened too | if you follow me I follow you back | have a nice day, sleep well, have a nice tomorrow, and so on and so forth

Sirens Wail

Samantha Evans

1 min read

Sirens wail

Everyone needs to hide

But they don’t know it’s real

False promises

We need to get away

But we think everything is fine

Sirens wail

They’ll lead them to the water

And they’ll drown with smiles on their faces

Said she’ll keep us safe

We don’t know she’s a liar

And we’ll live through the tears each day

We don’t know it’s not meant to be that way...

Call For Help (Don’t Want To Be Heard)

Samantha Evans

1 min read

Say my pleas for help

Softly

Don’t make my demands

Harshly

You need to call for help

(I don’t want to be heard)

You can’t do this by yourself

(I don’t want to worry her)

Just take a step back

Slowly

Make up for what I lack

Quickly

This pain is not for them to share

But it’s becoming to much for me to bear

My final whispers wander away without care...

Weather Feels Like Home (haikus)

Samantha Evans

1 min read

Too young to recall

Living in the desert, but

The heat feels like home

Hardly remember

Living in way up there, but

The rain feels like home

So tell me dear sister,

Does the weather ever feel

Like home to you too?...

Two Girls (I Know More Than They Do)

Samantha Evans

1 min read

Two little girls

Set out into the world

Not really, it’s just for two weeks

And they’ll be with family the whole time

(that’s true, sadly it’s true)

They’re going to New York

Except they’re not, but they don’t know that

They’re driving the wrong way

But they’re so young, they still don’t question what adults say (but they should, they really should)

So when they find themselves in LA

They don’t ...

Forget Before

Samantha Evans

1 min read

Run right down the road

Faster, faster, don’t lose hope

Try not to trip

Send a signal as you skip

Let the light lessen

As darkness draws towards your door

Forget what things were like before

Cause they’re not friendly anymore...

Empty

Samantha Evans

1 min read

This house is so empty

And it’s so small

We used to have our own rooms

But we’ll have to share now

This house is so empty

So little furniture

There will be some in time

But for now we eat pizza on the floor

This house is so empty

No memories made

We’ll make them at some point

But for now this place is unfamiliar

We used to only have secret moments

But now we’re safe in the open

And starting fro...

Not Another Nightmare

Samantha Evans

1 min read

The land is dark

The trees bright red

Please no, not here

Anywhere else

Why must I be

Back here again?...

Whispers On The Wind

Samantha Evans

Sometimes I think that

Someone is calling

Out for me to come

But alas, it’s just

Whispers on the wind...

Up In Flames

Samantha Evans

1 min read

You watch your home

Go up in flames

She’s still inside

But that’s okay

Cause you will be

Better without her

You watch them as

They put out flames

And save her life

But it’s too late

Cause the fire has

Spread too far, too long

You watch your life

Go up in flames

You want to cry

But it’s okay

Cause a fresh start

Will be better for you

You watch your home

As it burns bright

Till it’s just ash

But ...

If Only I Could Smile

Samantha Evans

1 min read

If only I could fly

I’d go way up high

I’d dance among stars

In the night sky

If only I could run

I’d win the race I hadn’t won

I’d finally get out

And this would all be done

If only I could smile

I’d do it for a long while

I’d get up off the floor

It’s cold here on bathroom tile

If only I could die

I’d have no reason to cry

I’d be without worry

So this is my final goodbye

Note: I am fine I j...
