You open my eyes

And I finally see

The beast is awakening

I know that I could run

And that I really should

But despite all the warnings

I walk into the woods

I opened her eyes

And now she can see

I thought this would help

And she’d know to run far

But she’s looking at the beast

Like it’s her guiding star

I open my eyes

And before me I see

A girl standing still

A gift for me

I wrap my hand around her

Claws piercing her back

I lift her to my mouth

What a lovely little snack
