Weary Wallflower

Daddy didn’t do the dance,

He hid behind his hands.

Mama made a mess,

Lunch ladled then it lands.

Sister sizzles sausages,

Pretending play with pets

Brother bounces big blue balls,

Not noticing the nets.

I sadly sit in solitude,

No one notices me.

Busy bees be bustling but,

This Queen quills quietly....

Others Reigns

Picking pockets to find their silver linings

Trying to construe it in the contour of clouds

Like merchant men wear their vices

These moguls and mandates make margins

to manage the marginalised

So we make the most of mess

The decrepit, den themselves in, into dismal dens

Reaping repercussions of others reigns

However high they might fly

Cascading, we all come crashing down in the end...

Worried World Of War

While the worried world of war weeps,

People panic and pray for peace.

Terrified to face the fear, afraid to fight for freedom.

Stranded souls surely suffer,

Silent screams stir the somber air.

Searching for salvation,

Sudden sacrifice, such a sad and somber site.

Tattered towns torn asunder,

Trembling hands tightly tether.

Hope hangs heavily in heavy hearts,

Constant cacophony, cruelty in the ...

Ghosts

brave and bold, he fights the fight.

Clashing with claws of creatures concealed,

courageously he carves through the cursed field.

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts,

with stoutest wrists and loudest boasts,

he thrusts his fists against the posts,

and still insists he sees the ghosts....

Small Stars

Small stars in the sky

Are still sad smiles

Speaking softly in a safe space.

Scared to show significant soft spots for fear of sneers

So, search silently for the stars in your sky.

Small smiles are still significant for small stars.

Soon, with specks of kindness, small stars smile....

Little lilacs love

Calming clouds above

Liar, Liar

Liar, liar, lives in leisure

Cuts all corners carelessly

Liar, liar, lacking limits

Coolly, cruelly, calm and keen...

Proper Prompt Poem, Perchance?

…attributes, always belying belief in the beauty of consistent consonants and consonance,

Creating dramatic, detailed depictions of eerily-earthy enjoyment,

Forever floundering fondly from gray-matter given generously,

Having had hardly the headspace initially intended for justly jubilant jocularity,

Keeps a kinetic kaleidoscope living,

Long-last lauded,

Metaphorically-metered in the muck and mir...

Prayers For What?

An absolute agony

Storms in me,

Physically pulling prayers

My mouth barely remembers how to speak.

The prayers lack power,

Pure poison promises

I’m losing my mind,

I may never bounce back, just break.

I used to think

That love could fix

Whatever had been broken

Until I watched divorce divide the family I held dear....
