The Sweet of the Rot

Inspired by the prompt: “Rotting flowers can still smell sweet…”

In a cottage where ivy kissed broken stone,

Lived Elira, the woman who gardened alone.

Not with tulips in bloom or roses bright red,

But with petals half-fallen and nearly dead.

She plucked them at dusk with a reverent grace,

Each wilted bloom held like a sacred face.

Pressed into oils, steeped in old jars,

Whispers of sorrow seale...

"was My Silence Not Enough?"

(Tw scuicide)

The day you take your life people will act shocked. They'll say they had no idea you where struggling. "You never showed signs" "you never reached out" "you where silent about your struggles" "you never told anyone."But did you need to? The draining of your eyes, the scars on your arms, the shaking of your knee, your messy room, cutting everyone off,was it not enough? Did your silen...

Edric Ivory vs The Apocalypse- Chapter 1

Edric Ivory was never really good at anything he tried. Especially killing monsters. In a world of mutant creatures and darkness lurkers he could barely even hold a gun. With everything he failed at doing, his confidence level decreased, which really didn't help after the failed Russian science experiment. (The monsters didn't mind though, I'm presuming.)

Edric was currently engaging in target pr...

Death, On A Night Like This?

“Am I quit? Or do you just never listen,” I yelled over the blazing elemental just a mile ahead.

“Just get of the damn house,” I shouted.

He jumped of and I yanked his hand so that he would follow me. We bolted behind a large rock. That’s when it began to yell. It was in ...

In One Ear, Out The Other.

How loud do I have to speak

To break down your walls?

How much do I have to clutch your shoulders,

shaking until you understand what I want?

Do I have to stab you,

Cut you wide open,

To infect your wounds with my words?

That’s too much work

For just some simple words,

I wish you would’ve heard.

How much longer do I have to strain,

My now-frail vocal chords?

How much longer should I believe I...

Weaving Gratitude

“You’re SO lucky to have a raven as a familiar.” Lara sighed. “Having a spider makes me feel like a joke. I mean, she barely talks! Just quiet mumbles.”

“Am I quiet?” Charlotte grumbled. “Or do you just never try to listen?”

Maybe both, given how Louise blithely agreed with Lara and started going on about how wonderful ravens were.

Charlotte felt a bit better when Edgar gave her a sympathetic l...

Quiet

“Am I quiet? Or do you just never try to listen.” Lorraine shouted at me. I was unsure where this anger was coming from. All I did was open my mouth to give her a compliment. If she only knew how I ached for her. How her mere smile could make my day. I had known here for years. We had started out as classmates and slowly progressed to being friends at each step of their relationship made him lov...
