The Hold

My dearest, loveliest, and belovedest,

Do not seize me with your eyes;

The one who holds my heart

Has squeezed it too tightly.

I am cursed, bounded, and condemned

to eat of your fruit.

You have built a cage for me,

and I am restless these many nights!

You speak tenderly to ear that has heard already

and softly to heart that has been captivated;

I weep at this wicked act:

Tying the chained man up!...

The Fall and the Fine Print

In the beginning nothing was amiss,

There was only Heaven — no Hell.

Utopia, eden, infinite bliss.

Then one of the angels — he fell.

Full of malintent, leading people astray,

In their sinful ways — he’d revel.

Lust, greed and envy snuck into the day,

All due to one man — Mr Devil.

So He sent him down to a place of his own,

“Corrupt these pure souls — you shan’t."

The devil in Hell, found himself...

Words Spoken Darkly

Words spoken darkly

Beneath your

Rotten breath,

A curse of some sorts

Placed upon me,

A hefty weight

Resting on my shoulders.

Crows now fly,

Hovering above me

Menacingly,

With malintent.

A feeling of dread

Lingering inside my head,

Burning a hole

Where happiness is

Supposed to reside.

You,

The one who cursed me,

All I must ask is

Why?

What evils did I

Bestow upon you

To deserve such immense

Don’t Be Wasteful

Who am I to waste our water?

I lay at the bottom of the shower

I let the scorching drops dig into my side

Wishing the skin would melt off and

Join the acid in the never fulfilled drain

The water falls and surrounds around me

Constraining me

Constantly reminding me of what has

brought me to a never ending shower

of doubt and hate.

Burden

Burden

Holds onto you at all costs

Holding you with a cold grip

Like talons, making your sweat drip

Burden

Squeezes you tight

Like a blanket strangling you

In the deep night

Burden

Drags you deep underneath

Deep under everything

Where the air is weak

Burden

When will it ever leave?

Will it ever let go of you?

Or is this life’s feat?

The Cat And Goat

I’ve seen her strolling down the woodland path

No care in the world no love in her eyes

A liar she is with her family and friends

The only one who sees like I is the black cat calling me Elend

I bite my thumb till bloody and raw

She has stolen from the baker, craftsman and shopowner again

A thief she is such a wretched beast

Only the goat bleats saying indeed

Friday The 13th

Woke up this morning

Fell straight out of bed

Sprained my ankle

And hit my head

Burnt my toast

Scolded my hand with my tea

Bloody Hell!

It's Friday the 13th

My car broke down on the way to work

My tyre went flat on a roundabout

Everyone was beeping their horns

I felt a right twerk

My stapler broke

The photocopier was jammed

My wife forgot to make my lunch

The Curse

The vile one climbed up my spine,

each vertebrae shivering under

its slimy footwork.

The Other came soon after,

filling each empty cyst with

malignant blackness.

An omen flap'd red greasy wings,

and mounted on my shoulder,

whispering the old tongues.

Eyes of the beholder, the

diamond-pearls of yesterday,

are now forever dark.

I dig again into endless sand,

The Hellhound

Beware the hellhound that stalks the night,

The eyes like fire at the edge of sight.

A thing of evil, pure malice born,

A maw of fire, within souls are torn.

A curse that chases you to death,

Removes from you your final breath.

A phantom dog with teeth like knives,

Devours good and wicked lives.

Beware, say I, of that hellish hound,

For what it seeks will soon be found....
