POEM STARTER
Write a poem about a curse, evil, or malintent.
An atmosphere of wickedness is a rarer theme in poetry. Have a go at creating a menacing tone in your poem.
The Fall and the Fine Print
In the beginning nothing was amiss,
There was only Heaven — no Hell.
Utopia, eden, infinite bliss.
Then one of the angels — he fell.
Full of malintent, leading people astray,
In their sinful ways — he’d revel.
Lust, greed and envy snuck into the day,
All due to one man — Mr Devil.
So He sent him down to a place of his own,
“Corrupt these pure souls — you shan’t."
The devil in Hell, found himself all alone,
But return back above — he can’t.
Instead his evil spread all across earth,
“I’ll give what you wish — for a price."
Finding the value a soul can be worth,
An Afterpay and the form? Afterlife.
It got to the point where the evil had spread,
Far and wide both on Earth — and in Hell.
Do you see the difference between living and dead?
If you asked Him, he’d answer — can’t tell.
