Sky

When no one’s looking, the sky exhales,

And folds itself in softer scales.

The clock forgets to tick on time,

The world steps out of every rhyme.

A coffee cools beside a sigh,

A paper bird prepares to fly.

And in the stillness, small and true—

The quiet starts remembering you....

His Point Of View

I tried to see it from his point of view

A lifetime set on new challenges, goals and achievements

My life seemed so different

I wondered if he felt that his time was running out

Having spent a lifetime chasing his dreams and escaping the mundane day to day

My life seemed so different

I wanted him to stop and savour the moment, treasure the memory

He would probably feel like time had never passed s...

Clicking Clock

I wonder what would happen if time had a pause button would we all agree that time moves to fast or would we say time has never passed so slowly why would you start again when time is always on the move I mean

Wishing that we would hold on to the moment if only

We could step back and look at life from a different lens what would we see

Would we see the world in one view or would we crash into a ...

Ditch The Pity

An amber glow.

The dying light of eternity—it casts over me.

Tucked into a thicket, I lie, motionless.

Desperate for music, even just a cricket.

It’s aching silence and I have submitted to the Earth.

Take my body, take it wholly.

I pray for the leaves to wrap me tightly.

Into the woods, becoming the foliage.

I lie, in the ditch.

Paralyzed from the ground up—I only have my eyes.

They dart back and...

To a stranger

Today I saw your face and I know you saw mine.

We locked eyes but you seemed to forget who I was.

Have all those memories vanished? I’m now a stranger to the one I loved.

I don’t even know where you reside or who’s by your side when your down.

How can I be fine when you are no longer mine.

The air feels dry and all I want to do is cry.

I saw the lives, I saw the socials and now I’m blocked

But to...

Tick Tick

Time had never passed so slowly

Her heart felt like a ticking bomb,

like at any moment it could erupt

Her mind moved quickly while real-life

seconds stretched long

Spinning rooms, shaking hands, shallow breaths, sinking sand

Quickly, quickly falling down, seems like there is no way out

Time even seems to stop, her pulse quickens, heart drops

Tick, tick, tick

Trapped by her own skin...

Let Me Adore You Once More

She walks towards the sun kissed lake

Silver locks soon break away

Reveal the golden eyes she hides

And now she reaches for the sky

From sunrise to dawn

She watches serenely

Like moon light and orchids

I’m dearly rewarded

Now gentle snow cakes the field

I relish the dream and now I yield

To sit and watch becoming lonely

Time never passed so slowly...

Mum Has Died

T/W grief, cancer

Mum smells like roses

She claps more than anyone

She is proud of me

I then take a bow

Music lives because of you

My mum, my dear mum

We avoid the word

But it’s there in melodies,

memory: cancer

Now words elude me

My fingers die on the keys

Love is lost to me

I haunt with my song,

my empty compositions

Music is dying

The bird stops chirping

As I play the fun’ral song

I stum...

Timely Thoughts

Time had never passed so slowly

before the days we spent roaming.

Together or not, minds brought

to thoughts of hands, breath,

heart rhythm, and home....

Temporary Peace

The breeze was soothing as if kissing our skin, and the night sky was calming almost as if God was setting the perfect stage. I hold you tight in my arms, the smell of your hair and your perfume fill my nose with exctasy. The only sound I hear is your breath as I lay my head on your shoulder. Even though you are wrapped in my arms I am surrouned by your warmth, being vulnerable with you made me fe...
