Awaiting results

Time had never passed so slowly

Watching the clock

Hours go by

No notice of what’s to come

I watch as the doctors come and go

Yet no response, not one

I wonder if my thoughts are correct, but I try to be hopeful and still

The smell of the newly disinfected floor hit my nose like a shock of lightning

Stomp

Stomp

Those were the words I heard before the doctor came in

The doctor let out a lou...

The Blue Van

Time had never passed so slowly

The leaves had slowly fallen off the trees

The bright hues a stark contrast to the muddy gravel that lay on the ground

The clouds drifted

The sun setting ever so slowly

The fridge opening and closing every few minutes

The sound of empty bottles piling in the trash

Maybe if she remained still he wouldn’t notice

She never dared to turn around

To gaze at anything but...

Basketball

The ball bounced into her hand

Like magnets to their oppisites

The player zoomed

As if she had no limits

The basket came closer

To the player and the ball

The time was ticking

20 seconds, 10 seconds

She jump-stopped

And shot the ball

Time had never passed so slowly...

Deer In The Headlights

The day that she was born,

Was the best day of my life.

This perfect little fawn,

The best gift from my wife.

We watched her crawl, we watched her walk,

Learn to babble, then begin to talk.

Our hearts were bursting out with pride.

But then a crash — and she died.

Our hearts were shattered into bits,

Just like the car, the impact hits.

No more smiles, no more laughs,

No more diapers, no more bar...

Waiting

Time passes so slowly when we’re apart but fast when we’re near. I see the way you smile because of me. I wish you could admit it if you had feelings for me. No friend would do the things you do to me. When I feel asleep on your shoulder you let me stay. No friend would do that…. Until next year “friend”.....

The Hallway

The silence between us.

Among the chatter of strangers

What was I to say?

You betrayed me.

Betrayed us.

I see you from time to time

I don’t forget

Pretend it doesn’t affect me

Even though it does

You’re sick.

Sick and twisted.

I’ve forgiven you.

But I want you to know that

I still don’t like you

I dislike you as a person

Not because of your actions, though

You hurt her.

You hurt all of ...

Sky

When no one’s looking, the sky exhales,

And folds itself in softer scales.

The clock forgets to tick on time,

The world steps out of every rhyme.

A coffee cools beside a sigh,

A paper bird prepares to fly.

And in the stillness, small and true—

The quiet starts remembering you....

His Point Of View

I tried to see it from his point of view

A lifetime set on new challenges, goals and achievements

My life seemed so different

I wondered if he felt that his time was running out

Having spent a lifetime chasing his dreams and escaping the mundane day to day

My life seemed so different

I wanted him to stop and savour the moment, treasure the memory

He would probably feel like time had never passed s...

Clicking Clock

I wonder what would happen if time had a pause button would we all agree that time moves to fast or would we say time has never passed so slowly why would you start again when time is always on the move I mean

Wishing that we would hold on to the moment if only

We could step back and look at life from a different lens what would we see

Would we see the world in one view or would we crash into a ...

Ditch The Pity

An amber glow.

The dying light of eternity—it casts over me.

Tucked into a thicket, I lie, motionless.

Desperate for music, even just a cricket.

It’s aching silence and I have submitted to the Earth.

Take my body, take it wholly.

I pray for the leaves to wrap me tightly.

Into the woods, becoming the foliage.

I lie, in the ditch.

Paralyzed from the ground up—I only have my eyes.

They dart back and...
