POEM STARTER
‘Time had never passed so slowly'
Write a poem that concludes with this line.
Deer In The Headlights
The day that she was born,
Was the best day of my life.
This perfect little fawn,
The best gift from my wife.
We watched her crawl, we watched her walk,
Learn to babble, then begin to talk.
Our hearts were bursting out with pride.
But then a crash — and she died.
Our hearts were shattered into bits,
Just like the car, the impact hits.
No more smiles, no more laughs,
No more diapers, no more barfs.
No more jumping about with glee,
I’ve lost my favourite part of me.
Each day I pray I’ll wake to find,
It’s all a dream, just in my mind.
But she’s still gone and I am lonely.
Time had never passed so slowly.
