I Don't Feel Bad Anymore

Silvermist

1 min read

I always felt bad for her.

I watched him give her withering stares,

Crumbling her self worth,

Staring at her withering soul

And treating her like nothing.

He did the same to me.

To my brothers.

And that's how we grew up.

I always saw her as an equal,

Another prisoner

To his iron bars of control.

But I'm older now.

And all I see

Is her failure to support

And protect her children.

PMDD

Silvermist

1 min read

_This is a poem describing how it feels to deal with the condition PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder.) It's basically PMS but on steroids. Enjoy. _

Finally the cycle ends.

I am back to normal

For now.

I can rest.

But a week passes,

Then I'm back

To the dreaded thoughts

The feelings,

Inescapable,

Impossible to control.

I search

For someone else

Who understands.

Understands how I f...

Wildfire

The burn in my chest

To be near you.

It never ceases.

Never balks.

I see your name on my screen,

My heart skips a beat,

And a smile blooms on my face.

All i want is to be close to you.

To lay on your chest

As eternity passes us by.

When we're together,

I never feel close enough.

Like the desire to be near

Is more of a desire to be intertwined

With your soul.

To dance in heaven,

Past ...

What Did I Do?

Silvermist

1 min read

Footsteps echo

As we open the door

To the dermatologist.

Dad is silent.

And i ask myself

What did you do?

Check in

Blurry

Nurse guides us to a room

Silence.

The nurse leaves.

Silence.

"Well," he begins.

"Since my presence

Brings you such anguish

I guess i will find somewhere else

To live."

What did you do?

I don't give into his manipulation.

The nurse is in and out.

Blurry.

Tears...

Nothing.

I look in the mirror

And stare.

I pick myself apart

Piece by piece

Searching

For what you could possibly love

About me.

I see nothing....

Haunted House

Silvermist

1 min read

A house so silent,

It seems empty.

But it remains haunted

By possibility.

The possibility

Of my father.

The potential

Of a fight

Or a hug.

Has he changed?

His expression say

He hasn't.

But there is a quiet tinge of pain

In my heart

Every time he's in the kitchen

And we ignore each other.

Like ghosts in our own, living house.

Living family.

But we pretend we don't exist anymore.

Class Of 2026

Silvermist

1 min read

Senior year closed in on me.

Senior portraits

Senior sunrise

Senior year.

And yet

I lay in my room

Preparing to work the next morning

Where I have worked for the past 3 years.

Waiting for summer to end

And my last year of high school

To begin.

Throughout high school I have lost friends,

And I have gained friends.

I have a boyfriend of one year,

And good grades.

I have lived here for 9 ye...

Mean Girl Drama

My name is Hannah. I’m 13 and I go to Westchester Middle School. I just started seventh grade and it’s already off to a bad start. All the cool kids hate me and I don’t have many friends. Besides, I’m kind of a nerd.

Anyway, want me to tell you what happened? Okay, here goes... remember how I said the popular kids kind of hate me? Yeah, well today at lunch, they walked up to me. They caus...

The Proposal

Silvermist

1 min read

The dandelions are swaying in the wind,

Branches on trees I am bound to mend.

The sun is rising just above the horizon,

Something I’ve always got my eyes on.

I look up and get down on one knee,

Because everything is just as it’s meant to be....
