Crumbling Walls

Oubaitori

1 min read

They say crumbling walls should be replaced

as the sky screams with terror, sparks falling down it's cheeks

Holding together was the job only the ivy could hold

If only could the angel that built it come back to meet my hand

Climbing the skies little by little until even the sky falls again

And with it, I tumble back to be met by empty air

They say crumbling walls should be replaced, rebuil...

Dying world

Oubaitori

1 min read

The birds crow a weeping melody, trees clean of leaves

the smoke chokes the atmosphere, until even us can't breathe

I look upon the weary skies, the ones that fell so far

If only could this one last time I could see the stars

But the babies are all silent, the snow is blood ash-grey

The language that once taught us has nothing else to say

They tell us "sleep now, my child. Don't worry, it's not...

Twice

Oubaitori

1 min read

I broke my rules for you

As the sky had broken with my rain

Twice did the swinging bells ring

Twice did the wind chimes sway

Twice were chances given for you to hit true

But alas, both arrows missed the target

Because both were aimed for my heart

And silent, bleeding, did I take the bow

I broke my beliefs for you

As each line was rewritten in red ink

Burning pape...

Mirror

Oubaitori

2 min read

"Why are you afraid, what do you fear?"

"I'm not"

"You are, you just don't want to admit it, that a danger is near"

"I'm not afraid, I don't have things to fear. I don't have things to panic for, but my heart plays it's own game"

"So why are you so content on burying things, you'll go insane"

"So what, so what, do I look like I care?"

"Do you? Maybe you do and you don't know how to share"

"Th...

Paper Walls

Oubaitori

2 min read

Day one

Look upon the walls of my mind, and you'll see every inch crowded with words

I never learned to say,

they all line up through a filter to be counted out again and again

until the words begin

But until then

The words begin to bleed through the walls that has become paper thin

And another word is written when it may

Day two

There are stars when I close my eyes, and I watch them whe...

Mea Maxima Culpa

Oubaitori

1 min read

(Mea culpa, mea maxima culpa)

Just one wrong step I took, one step that cost me everything

But it was too late when the glass shattered

It was too late when the strings suddenly tightened

and suddenly no one could save me

Maybe they weren't meant to

(Mea culpa, mea maxima culpa)

Words were just words, perhaps they were never meant to be used like arrows

But I am the one who stepped into th...

Mask

Oubaitori

1 min read

There was a mirror on the wall

Who I took down to play my face

Listen to each and every call

And into my face it learned to stay

If only had this been a one time thing

But instead it became twisted possession

A contest on who could last longer

Ended up becoming crippling obsession

Instead of making each other stronger

We learned to live with the crimson

Each crack became my own pain

But t...

Clouds

Oubaitori

1 min read

Note: poem not story

When I was little

I used to lay outside and reach my hands up to the sky above

Convinced I could touch the great moving clouds

If I just extended my arms just a little further…

I would be dropped back here

Than back in the past

Sit in the rain reaching to the gods

Instead of the clouds that swept over the lands

Although it is a warm embrace—-

Warmer than the arms I’m look...

The Steps

Oubaitori

1 min read

These days come by walking through the leaves

The trees themselves fall away in the mist

Until sunlight hits my skin,

And the blood runs off my arms and off my wrists

From my hands, of my guilty trail

I stand at the jury’s mercy but yet I watch

From the woods, from the place called home

Carefully falling, down down down until the sharp

Jolt of stone

Forever should a blindfold cover my eyes

A...

Nature

Oubaitori

1 min read

A silent whisper where many find beauty

Or many find fear in the murderous intent

In Mother Nature’s eyes

A wind that carries a song no one listens to

And the unheard scream of flowers on the window sill

Where we walk, where our footsteps lay unerased

Pencil marks in the sand where words become dust again

Thinking again under the sun’s heavy beating

And the winter’s harsh sting

But yet

We fi...
