The Burden Of Memory

Fairyfae

1 min read

The burden I carry is heavier than gold

It’s so heavy that I might fold

The memory of your smile

Or the sound of your voice

Losing you was never a choice

And if it was then it’s one I would never rejoice

Losing you never quite made sense

Similar to a silent choir

Similar to a song that never sung

A blizzard in the spring

Or a heatwave in winter

A printer without ink

Or a connection without...

Time

Fairyfae

1 min read

Time goes by quickly

Then it passes slowly

Only to speed up as if making up for lost time

Is time on a timer, or is it just a timer

Does time count down or does it count up

Is it a construct or a constraint

Is it possible that it can be both

One day will time run out

Will time be here after everything is dead and gone

Or will it too disappear along side life

does time really matter when days pa...

Weather Not Quite Right

Fairyfae

1 min read

It was strange seeing snow

For a summer day, I expected rain to flow

Or the sun to shine

I wondered if something wasn’t quite fine

Up in the heavens above

Did Persephone leave Demeter too early

Or did the Christian god choose to remind us of purity

What god was responsible, if any was

Did the ice particles science talks about not melt despite what summer demands

Did we sleep in for a month or t...

Goodbye

Fairyfae

1 min read

You shined so bright

You put up a good fight

The way you showed me the way in the darkest nights

You fought and flickered never ceasing your light

Until that one cold night where you shined for the last time

Goodbye to the reliable flashlight I knew

Gone but never forgotten

Gone before the job was finished...

Thank You

Fairyfae

1 min read

Thank you for being so yourself

Thank you for the lessons you yelled

Thank you for teaching me toxicity

Thank you for being so closed off

Thank you for being a part of the problem

Thank you for being the man people warned of

Thank you for everything you’ve done to hurt

Thank you. For nothing

Thank you for being the toxic friend....

The Note

Fairyfae

1 min read

It was one post-it note, just one but I knew it was more than that. It’s not mine but someone I know, or at least I knew, they disappeared a while back and came back paralyzed, mute, and deaf everyone thought it was a kidnapping or a horrible accident but I knew it was so much more than that, and I knew their handwriting anywhere, and with it was a warning. “Don’t look behind you”, it was somethin...

Tick…tick…tick

Fairyfae

1 min read

Tick…tick…tick…tick

Each one feels like lifetimes

Click…click…click…click

A repeated noise counting the milliseconds

Tap….tap…tap…tap

The noise drowns out the speaker

Drip…drip…drip…drip

A running water source yet to be turned off

RING RING RING

The repeated sounds gets drowned out by the sound of loud talking and children running

Only to repeat again tomorrow...

The Revelation

Fairyfae

1 min read

I wonder if I would change if I knew

Maybe change the view

Maybe forget that spring

But maybe do not a thing

I wouldn’t care if it was just a fling

Because you made me new

Yes, that’s right, I wouldn’t change

Although this pain I feel is strange

When I was with you, I flew....

Hands

Fairyfae

1 min read

Timmy’s hands had messy pencil lines covering the palm as if the palm of his hand were somehow paper, his fingers covered in paint in a mess of colors which would stain well into tomorrow. His hands were small at least when compared to the adults in his life, and lack the scars and toughness of skin that any hard working person would gain as they aged. Baby hands they were called, but it was hard...
