POEM STARTER
Submitted by Robin Marlowe
Write a poem about unseasonable weather. e.g. A warm day in the winter, or snow in the summer.
Weather Not Quite Right
It was strange seeing snow
For a summer day, I expected rain to flow
Or the sun to shine
I wondered if something wasn’t quite fine
Up in the heavens above
Did Persephone leave Demeter too early
Or did the Christian god choose to remind us of purity
What god was responsible, if any was
Did the ice particles science talks about not melt despite what summer demands
Did we sleep in for a month or two
Did the snow ignore all instructions and came down anyway
Would it last only a day or would it continue into tomorrow too?
