POEM STARTER
Submitted by Chantel Akrawi
Write a poem where an inanimate object is a metaphor for love.
Blanket
She carried the blanket everywhere
She curled up with it at night
And in storms she held it tight
When she was with her love
She would swadle them up as one
Under the blanket, that she carried everywhere
When she was alone
She would drape it over her shoulders
Cuddling the blanket, that she carried everywhere
Her loves scent lingered on it
From the nights spent together
Wrapped in the blanket, that she carried everywhere
It started falling apart
But she never stopped fixing
And patching, the blanket she carried everywhere
Old and worn
But warm in the cold
was the blanket, that she carried everywhere
