I dont want to stick out like a weed

In a feild of wildflowers

One side said

Wanting to be the same as everyone else

I don’t want to blend in like

copies of blank paper

Said the other side

Wanting the freakishness of me to show

Which do I listen to?

The one who wants the same

Or the one who wants the oddness?

My parents say the first one

My friends say the second one

I think I’ll listen to both

I’ll stick in when I need to

To not be unliked

Unwanted and unknown

I’ll stand out when I must

Like when I need to stand up for someone

Or my beliefs and my opinions
