Anyone But You

“You look wonderful.” Millions of unwanted, imaginary, feelings flood into a single sentence. I feel like an animal unable to control itself, fighting to be a man. Fighting every cell in my body to not put my arm around you or to mouth the words “I like you.” I don’t, I know I don’t, I can’t, it will kill everything we know. If I admit the feelings I seemed to have conjured in my mind what will th...

Life Is A Gamble

How would you know if you lost?

The wheels will spin and ramble

Life will begin all over again

If you don’t take that gamble

It’s not whether you’re gonna lose

Your life is what you choose

To choose!

So go ahead and roll the dice

Don’t succeed

roll them twice!...

Burning House

I wish someone would break my heart.

I wish someone _could_ break my heart.

I want to spend the night in a burning house,

As long as I’m not sleeping alone.

I want to play with matches and watch my heart burn,

I want to set fire to the world around me.

I want to melt, and I want to break.

I want to feel alive,

To feel human.

I want the terror of feeling the whole world drop away.

I want the pani...

A Gamble

You’re sorry for disturbing my peace?

Tell me this…

Why is it that your ‘outlet’ all ends up being me.

Is it just a test?

Is it just to see if I’ll reply?

A flip of the coin…

Will she or will she not?

Tell me,

Are you satisfied with the response you got?...

Roll Of The Dice

It’s a roll of the dice,

Be it twice or thrice,

It’s a game of give and take,

It’s no matter what is at stake.

To rouse a Joker from its slumber,

To disguise a King to outnumber,

It’s a game of give and take,

It’s no matter what is at stake.

From atop a lonesome castle,

Is confined a lonesome damsel,

A sword rooted within a stone,

Yet, burnt at the stake, Joan.

It’s a roll of the dice ...

Alea ludere in domo antiquae matris

Four of the same men are my worst sin

Dressed and looking all like my end

Royal spoons laid across all around the table

I would run out on this devil's game if able

My first time losing they took my head

How this filled my body with inexplicable dread

Second time losing they took my heart

I would have noticed their tricks if I was still smart

Third time losing they took my soul

I gave up on win...

The Wager

I stood where shadows blur the line,

Where fate and choice entwine and twine—

A table carved from time and doubt,

With silence thick, and stars burned out.

A single chip clutched in my hand,

The weight of worlds I couldn't plan.

The dealer smiled with knowing eyes,

As if she'd seen all loss and lies.

This wasn't cards or dice or wheel,

But something deeper—sharp and real.

A risk of self, a dare ...

Love Is A Gamble

Love is like a game

A game of gamble

We roll a dice to find the one

Love is like a game

A game of gamble

We win and we lose

Open hearts to broken hearts

They show us one side to

Then show us they real side

Love is like a game

A game of gamble...

Casino of Broken Hope

I waltz in

To the casino floor

Of the MGM Grand

Let's play some more!

I insert the cash

The machine goes BLING BLING!

I pull the lever

The machine goes DING DING!

Five hundred dollars

Down the drain

So let's try again, and hope

It won't be in vain

Soon I'm out of cash

I leave Vegas in tears

It was all in vain

This was the worst of my fears...

The Casino's Glow

The coloured walls and neon lights,

The rattle of the card-spinning discs,

The laughter and tears, joy and fights,

The fear, the anxiety of all these risks.

Gathered in this funny place,

Many souls refuse to look their reality in the face,

Too distracted by the rattling of the card sheenes,

Or the spinning surface of luck machines.

Too focused on unrealistic expectations,

On...
