Writing Prompt

POEM STARTER

Inspired by Cheyenne King

Write a poem where someone is summoned by destiny or fate.

Maybe this person feels like they have a 'calling', or maybe in a fantasy world destiny really does come for people.

Voices Of Insanity

I hear them calling. Have heard them calling for years now. My body yearns to join the fray, to bask in the chaos and swim in the madness.

And yet my mind resists.

Some small sliver of sanity clings to the shell of my brain, begging me to save and not kill.

To live and not die.

I’m barely hanging on.

I know I can’t resist forever. No one can fight these words for long. I’ve pushed through so m...

Gray And Gray

Mind tangled like a knot of black snakes

« I’ve been there beforeĀ Ā» I say to no one

As I give a kick in the fourmiliĆØre of my mind

« I’ve been there before, many timesĀ Ā»

I have yet to learn, the lessons from the past

Pop a pill everyday, gulp one every night

So the night will stay dark and my eyes closed.

« I’ve been there before, it’s different now,

I recognize this placeĀ Ā»

The feeling weirdly f...

The Summons from the Snotty Gods

I didn't ask for a calling. I asked for quiet.

A predictable paycheck, a life on a low-carb diet.

I wanted routine, the safe, boring slow lane,

Not a glowing, dramatic Fate showing up in the rain.

It started with a whisper, like wind through dead trees,

A high-pitched annoyance that knocked me to my knees.

Then the air thickened, smelling of ozone and guilt,

And right there, in my kitchen, a new w...

The One Fate Called

I’ll answer to the call

Even if the world has to fall

I may not be strong

But fate can’t be wrong

This pull I feel can’t be shown

And it defies what I’ve known

I cant be the one they call a hero

All I am is a Piro

Fate must rely on me

Fate won’t ever set me free

I have to decide even if it’s hard

Even if the world ends up charred

This pull I feel, I can’t contain

This pull it must be arcane

I’v...

Fate

She wasn’t there when fate came calling

She had left ages before

Not Waiting for a prince to save her

She wasn’t there when fate came calling

Her footprints on a journey through mountains

Where she got to chose to go left or right

She wasn’t there when fate came calling

Her laughter echoing through hillsides

Not care who was listening

She wasn’t there when fate came calling

Her life long lon...

Fate (the sad version)

(highkey a totally different route from the prompt.. can u tell i didnt read it very thoroughly??)

Maybe it’s my fate, that I end all relationships this way

Or, possibly the hurt falls on me because i no longer wanted to feel the awfulness they inflicted

It could be that I just take all the abuse, I absorb it, letting it rest in the hollows of my heart

It’s likely I dig the hole deeper, letti...

The Day calls

A glow of hope that opens a door—

the knob not locked anymore.

The sun’s rays reveal what’s hidden in the mist;

darkness unclenches its tight fist.

The day is awake—

and so am I.

The world is calling;

I must reply.

I

need

to save

those

in need.

I need

to protect

those who

plead.

I need to—

I need to—

I need to be—

the one who helps those longing to be f...

Risen

From the ashes of your entity before

And what stands before me now,

Both adhere to the lores

And begets each resounding step on holy ground.

For which you were born brings forth the new rite

Of laying siege to the beasts dwelling within

Will you promise to battle endlessly with might,

And tear apart evil’s mordacious skin?

We are the light amongst the minacious

For we dwell where no man dare to ...

To Tempt Fate

When fate calls you cannot ignore it.

A twisted legacy

That you cannot change

It will summon you and you will not be able to escape its grasp

You can try

But you will burn

Nothing will rise from the ashes

They will float on the wind and be forgotten

Do not tempt fate

For when it calls you cannot ignore it...

Fate Of A Fighter

People say a fighter is born

That certain people are meant to battle the world

For they were born to hold the grief in their blood

And the spirit of the warrior is reborn

Such an odd thing to think

Yet people call me a fighter as the cheer me on

Prompting my rage with their howling

As I pick myself up once more

Clashing against my opponent as I scream to the heavens

For they created me d...
