When I contemplate what I’m grateful for

There’s a list inside my heart

Full of people, memories, things I have

But also, things that have come apart

The feeling of appreciation

Is the first item I can count

Such a blessing to be thankful

To feel gratitude in any amount

Next, I count my health, my well-being

That I have this life to live, this day that I adore

To breathe and move; to eat, sle...

On Wednesday, I’m free.

My paperwork is finished

For my PCS.

Nostalgia presents

Its bubbly eyes to see if

I will miss it here.

Sadly, my small friend,

I will only miss people

And not the days’ grind.

Bonfires and potlucks,

European vacations,

Boat trips and hammams.

On fondly and ache.

What is there to be grateful for in such a harsh, biting world?

Maybe it’s the temporary friendships that bring the temporary happiness.

Maybe it’s the Sunday morning church services.

Maybe it’s remembering times of happy families laughing in firelight.

Today, I choose to be grateful for a number of things God’s doing for me.

The way He’s given me a comforting dog...

One sound changes my whole day,

Customized to reveal the sound of your voice,

One touch and suddenly I’m at peace.

I’m proud to be the one to make everything okay,

Never leaving you is my choice,

This is why my love for you will never decrease.

Opening a new world is what you have done,

Creating a new meaning to life,
