POEM STARTER

Gratitude

Write a poem in any style, about what you're grateful for today.

Joyous Time

Time, I find, is invaluable

A odd thing, many take advantage of

They always say,

I would never take take it for granted,

Yet they aren’t joyous when they see their friends, they see them every day,

They role their eyes at a stupid joke made,

But don’t even smile,

They get mad at the slightest thing, yet don’t apologize even when their wrong,

I can’t judge, I struggle too,

But I know what’s righ...

Forever Grateful

I spilled my coffee on me before work,

Had to change, arrived late.

Great way to start the day right?

My boss made me do extra work ,

His work actually, but what can I say?

I’m destined to be a paid slave forever.

I don’t control my destiny he does.

Got home, finally.

Laid on my couch like a bag of potatoes,

And fell asleep in front of a « black mirror » episode.

So no. Sorry.

I can’t think of...

a beautiful life

ripping away any old strings that left me tangled.

pulling my hair out wishing i could wrap it around my hands.

looking for my glasses while running late.

i'll trip and fall when i dance.

but all of this doesn't stop me from my truth.

the truth that succeeds all of my actions.

the will that comes from me showing up on the frontline.

i cant pretend anymore that i don't like where i am.

i do like ...

I am grateful

For every hair left behind

For every ball under the couch

For every bone you left buried in the earth

I am grateful

That you taught me how to be selfless

That you taught me that love had no boundaries

That you taught me to believe in a better tomorrow

I am grateful yet...

Filled with the laughter of kids

Hidden among trees...

Rooted Overthinking

I think overthinking is carved deep in my skin.

It runs its roots up like veins to my heart,

Planting itself in my chest.

Outstretching it’s limbs it reaches

Reaches to the far corners of my skull,

Twists around my brain,

Tells me if I don’t have it I have nothing.

It’s leaves fall and settle in my stomach,

And hold me down like a cold rock.

Despite that,

I feel its blossoms in my chest,

I know I...

Is The Past Middle Of The Day

Dear God and I am thankful for everything you’ve have done for me. Thank you for my troubles because without I would seek out out you as much as I do. I love you Dear God and thank you for everything...

Chapter 1

Love given freely

Pure trust in every moment

Wrapped in blackest fur...

Onyx

There are moments I’ll never forget

Memories I’ll always hold dear

Yet none last as long as

Ones centered around you....

For You

When I contemplate what I’m grateful for

There’s a list inside my heart

Full of people, memories, things I have

But also, things that have come apart

The feeling of appreciation

Is the first item I can count

Such a blessing to be thankful

To feel gratitude in any amount

Next, I count my health, my well-being

That I have this life to live, this day that I adore

To breathe and move; to eat, sle...
