POEM STARTER

Gratitude

Write a poem in any style, about what you're grateful for today.

For the sun

Truth be told i sailed across the seas,

treacherous waters.

Forged by strength and courage,

One was possessed.

For one to be held dear,

Ceases thy whom lurk.

Although contemplation bleeds through my depths; and versions,

Nobody had hold of me more then my depression.

A glimmer,

A shimmer,

A blue sky,

A motorcycle,

A ride,

Im not one to hold your hand,

Whilst you lead.

My dreams hold prophecy,

When you are not near.

“One day at a time”, You stated.

The street lights went cold,

Done crept upon,

A laugh,

A smile,

A silly little moment,

A care.

For those whom forged a way of life.

Not only did one basket in the light for one.

A breath,

A sneeze,

A cold drink,

A warm drink.

As if a chemical reaction fizzed inside my chest,

Anxiety absorbs throughout.

I thank you.

I thank thee,

The first second on my new watch,

Time never reversed or fast forwarded.

Stagnant but full of curiosity,

Ideas and memories trapped behind my bars.

Open up and you just might see and reflection,

It’s meant for warmth,

Arrival at the sauna.

Sweating away what once was,

Astray.

Push and pull until your nailbeds give in.

Expressing gratitude has never been so hard.

Taught, too me,

Not.

Foregoing unexpected consequences,

For those empty of luck.

May you find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow,

As what you seek,

Is near.

The Souls of ghosts looming over,

Every step taken.

Machete to the jungle,

Whilst others turned back.

Im not good at giving a clap,

An applause.

Excitment was a burden,

Weight for others.

Envy.

A smile.

A shimmer,

A glow.

My life turned into a smooth flow.

And for that i thank you.

Amigo.
