Writing Prompt

POEM STARTER

Write a Valentines Day story or poem about something you love that isn't a person.

It can be anything other than a human; likely humorous, but it doesn't necessarily have to be funny!

Writings

My One And Only

My Valentine

My love

My heart and my soul

My gift from above

We’ll together grow old

Your curves

Your body

Your voice soft and sweet

The thought

Of you gone

Makes me want to weep

The way

That it feels

When you lay in my lap

My fingers

Trace your sides

Like they were a map

Jasmine

My sweetheart

The core of my world

This poem’s of course

About my guitar not a girl...

Extra Extra…

We should totally do this every night

I mean, am I right or what?

We are such fun lot

Let me see

How many have you got?

This is totally like our spot

I freaking love it here

Damn, this sauce is good as hell

Y’all are loving it…I can tell

Mhmm, and that incredible smell

I can’t get enough of it

I love every single bit

The shape, the crunch, the flavour

Ohh, I am going to savor

Tears in my eyes...

A Valentine For A Dog

One cold night I was walking around, then I saw a dog! I realized that I had a chew toy.It was shaped as a heart. The dog loves its new valentine toy...

Love Love

It’s Valentine’s Day and roses are blooming

Chocolates given, love is imputing

But how I love love

How the words stay to shimmer

How each time affections shown

You can hear of loves whisper

Yes we all spend time with the one that we want

But when we spend time

We spend time with the love we want most...

All I Love

Dear shiny and blue pen (aka Arlo),

Thank you

For writing so smoothly.

You bleed onto the paper

So I can create.

You never pout

Or frown.

I love you.

Love,

Sage (pen name)!

*Yes I named my pen Arlo. He is a fountain pen and he is so pretty.*

Dear flute,

Your voice

Is so beautiful.

You hum tunes of

Joy and sadness.

You sing even

When broken.

You bring me

Happiness and

I love you so ...

How Can I Express That I Love You So?

How can I express that I love you so?

I want to hold on and never let you go

You’re the flowers in my heart when spring draws close

You’re my soft and gentle song, my healthy overdose

The pages of your love are a welcoming embrace

And gone are all the challenges I’ll ever have to face

Of everything that comes and goes, all that is not fair

I know that deep down, you are always there

and yet you

should be

bursting at the seams

because you become

whole worlds

and cultures

with people

and

you let me

i can hear the engine of a car far away

i can see the lights of someone who forgot to turn them off

toys left out, waiting to be enjoyed in the morning

a cold breeze washes over me

as if it were scolding me for disappearing for too long

kissing my cheeks in recognition

old friend, oh how I've longed for you

familiar stars look at me with curios...

Rainbow

They come in limited colors

The easiest ones to mix

Always consistent, each like the other

And symmetry allows sugar to affix

The ease of the rainbow

Going from bag, over tongue

Till all that remains

Is a brain feeling bee stung

I adore the sweet cheap jelly

As it sits, a colored swirl lump

Aging slowly in my belly

A persistent declared dump...

My Books

In quiet corners, where the shadows blend,

I find my solace, my most steadfast friend.

Pages whisper secrets, stories yet untold,

Adventures wrapped in paper, treasures to unfold.

Each spine a portal to a world anew,

Where dreams take flight and skies are painted blue.

With every line, I journey through the years,

Sharing laughter, shedding countless tears.
