Writing Prompt

The sky is beneath me now.

Clouds float underfoot

Like soft lies i once believed in.

The grounds has vanished

Or maybe it just stopped waiting.

I walk on ceilings

Where light fixtures blink like broken stars.

Rooms spin,

Memories fall out of drawers i never opened.

Names drip from the walls

And none of them are mine.

They say things feel wrong

When you’re not grounded.

But i was never grounde...

My heart, is left yearning

yearning for love, yearning for reason

there are more fish in the sea, my mother tells me

but each time I swim out into the great blue, Im left drowning; stuck.

My arms lash out at the violent waters.

Trying to keep my limp, but determined, body afloat.

It’s no good.

I am slowly pulled down by the force of the darkness; the bottomless depth of the sea.

why can’t I find ...

It’s the middle of summer, not winter nor fall

I’m wearing a sweatsuit - pants and all

Its so hot outside, I’m drowning in sweat

This is surely a moment I’ll never forget

I’m upside down and backwards

I’m inside out and crosswards

Sometimes I smile, sometimes I frown

I’m twisted up, I’m upside down

It’s the middle of autumn, leaves fall to the ground

Gently floating, not making a sound

I arrive ...

I’ve fallen for it, the money.

Pick me up, honey.

I’m telling you more than I know,

This is is all I’ve got for show.

There’s not way out,

I hit, scream and shout.

Rescue me,

It was only a bad knee....

I can’t believe they decided to hang me

I’m slanging like a piece of butcher meat

Swaying in the breeze

Hung by the tippy toes of my feet

All because I said Little Cesars has the pizza

I’m upside down....

I’m upside down

It feels like the world has turned over

My life has changed, but for better or worse?

Everything doesn’t make sense anymore

I don’t feel like myself

Nothing around me seems like it stayed the same

It’s as if everything changed when I did

The sky is on the ground, it had crashed

Am I going insane, is this a dream?

I need to get myself back up

My feet are pointing up to the sky...

Everything feels upside down.

It feels wrong.

How could I fix this?

Do I make or break?

Strong as heartbreak.

I’ll find it one day.

The words I need to find.

Sometimes it’s dark,

Sometimes it’s bright.

Either way I’ll always be upside down.

How do I find the exit to this hell,

everything I do, everywhere I go.

It never goes away.

The dizziness,

of being upside down....

I live my life upside down

I walk, talk, breathe, upside down

It makes me distorted

But maybe it’s not so bad

I can see things no one does

I can do things no one does

I may look normal to others

Maybe not

Who cares

Upside down or not

I’m me

Upside down or right side up

Is a tree falling or flying

Is it possible for birds to be falling

Gravity is taking its toll

I am flying but my friends are screaming

Right down up left

Am I right for being left

Or am I left for being right

My friends are screaming

Gravity has taken over

Do I remember how to scream
