Growing up

was hard

I do have to say

A lot of things

_Twisted_

My perspective on life

Went from whimsical

To philosophical

Seemingly overnight

My hair

Once straight as a board

Now wavy and sweet

Like the oceans salty treat

My body

Once flat and angular

Now healthy and curvy

The perfect size to hug

My sense of love

Once directed towards on group

Now focused on all

My what a ball

So I guess...

Ode To Chronos

Ode to Chronos,

Ode to the times that flows.

Ode to being the Maiden,

the Mother, and the Crone.

Ode to being young,

like Apollo and Artemis,

who they would play archery together.

Ode to be in love,

like Afrodite and Ares,

that did go against everyone

to prove their love.

Ode to sped a life time together,

like Zeus and Era did,

learning to have patiance

and to forgive one another

Day In The Life Of Susie May

My plans for today?

Well, I’ll wash myself with paint

In glitter glue and crayons

Sitting fitting on the floor

I am never quitting

I will run for hours,

Run for days!

Time is endless here

Then I’ll sit

Eating a freezer pop.

Run and jump

Sit on a stump

Put your hands into the dirt

It’ll wash you clean

What else will make you clean?

Painting yourself blue

And then I’ll go and make a stew,

Out of ro...

Love

I thought it would be,

Easy,

Falling.

I thought it would be,

Simple,

Like crawling.

It wasn’t,

Easy,

Falling.

It wasn’t,

Simple,

Like crawling.

It would change,

My heart,

My body

And soul.

Weight

Why is a useless question

In the face of tragedy

Just breathe through it

They tell you

But you just want to know why

Why was your family chosen

Out of the sea of possible…

Victims

But they also tell you

Victim is a dirty word

Just breathe through it

They say

I need to know why

I feel its weight

The weight of why

The fate of time

I guess fate is why

But am I powerless

To the hands of time

high school

i don’t think I’ll ever be ready

for high school.

it always seemed so far away,

a tiny dot on the horizon line.

but that dot has grown closer

and closer to me,

its arms reaching out to grab me,

to take me away from my innocent youth

and into the world

of college and adulting.

whenever someone asks me how i feel

about starting high school next year,

i laugh and say that i’m not ready yet.

Never Grow Up

I don’t mean to embarrass you

Really, I don’t mean to,

But instead of Harry Potter

Try drinking some water

Or learn to sew

It comes in handy you know

You’ll make friends along the way

Not all of them have nice things to say

You’ll find yourself

And learn your lefts

From rights,

Jump on the trampoline

Instead of growing up...

An Ode To Ascension

Dear me when I was growing up

I hope you find this well

I hope that you become grateful

That I put you through such hell

I pushed you hard

In every way

Your body your mind your spirit

The way

You thought, you laughed,

You smiled, you talked

Every detail of you

Was written in chalk

But you rose to the occasion

Despite all those stressors

Even if it was me

Who became your aggressor

But I’ve...

Growing Up

In childhood's embrace, we danced, Underneath skies of blue,

Dreams like wildflowers, they pranced, In innocence, we grew.

Through the years, a gentle breeze, Guided steps, both fast and slow, Learning life's melodies,

As time began to flow. With each sunrise, a new dawn,

As we journeyed far and wide, In the tapestry of life drawn,

Our hearts swelled with pride.Yet, in the quiet of the night, E...
