I saw a heart so pure

Untouched like it was covered in a cloak

But this filth, it could no longer endure

So like a fragile glass, it broke.

Those jagged edges that shone

Not with light, but the blood of a soul

That cried for a home

And its family back whole.

The world taught it a lesson in life

That life itself will pull you apart

‘ do you still want to go through all this strive?’

‘ why not?...

Brave.

But what does it mean to be brave

To fight the fearful feelings they crave

To walk out of the flames

Although you will get burned

To try even if they push you down

Knowing you might not make it out

To fall knowing you might drown

But knowing what you earned

The word echoes in our minds

Putting our lives on the line

Lose control lose time

Brave is ,knowing ...

I know it seems hard now

But I want you to know

It is brave to keep going

It is brave to wake up

It is brave to talk

It is brave to breath

It is brave to reach out

It is brave to cry

It is brave to fall apart

Its brave to admit you are not alright

It is brave to be you

It is brave to exist

It is brave to stay alive

It is brave to not lose your mind

It is brave to read this

It is brave to writ...

Even if I fall,

My attempts will still stand tall,

As my bravery gold.

Those words echo in my head—

every night—

as I lay down to sleep.

Like I’m always in a place

never meant for me,

speaking words

that don’t feel like mine.

It can mean

Taking that leap

Getting out of bed in morning

Asking out that big high school crush

Conquering a new fear

Getting rid of a toxic friend

It all means something different to us

But it all ends in the same result

With us being as brave as a lion

Taking our quest head on

Conquering it

And being braver than the lion itself....
