I saw a heart so pure

Untouched like it was covered in a cloak

But this filth, it could no longer endure

So like a fragile glass, it broke.

Those jagged edges that shone

Not with light, but the blood of a soul

That cried for a home

And its family back whole.

The world taught it a lesson in life

That life itself will pull you apart

‘ do you still want to go through all this strive?’

‘ why not?’ said the broken heart.

That day, the word brave was told

When it pulled itself together

And stood firm and bold

And not to hurt another

But to make sure that if not itself

Then everyone else had a home
