I had the potential to be great

But I made the mistake

Of being myself

Of trying to be free

And that set me back

Because how can I be great

If I can’t convince people to believe

I had the potential to move mountains

Until My body crumbled

My limbs caved from the pressure

Of existing in a world beyond proper standards

How can I move mountains

When I can’t even move myself

I had the potential to help people

And I started to try

I let people cry and never asked why

I gave advice and didn’t ask twice

But I couldn’t tell what more to do

I had the potential to be perfect

To be what everyone assumed of me

Until I decided math was not my thing

And neither are men apparently

But what is perfect

If I can’t be me

I had the potential, to cure the worlds problems

But I have problems myself

And I can’t solve problems

Without hurting myself more than I have

How can I be against problems

While filling my body with them

I had the potential to stay quiet

But I spoke up

I always try to speak up

Because why should I let someone push me around

or shove me to the ground

I had the potential to be a great poet

To speak from the heavens

And guide those below

But I made the decision to be here instead

Not far and not wide

But To comfort the broken souls

And to hold the cracked peices together

And I think that makes me a great poet
