She looks back at me from the mirror. Mismatched eyes are bleeding black.

Lips are crusted with blood. Shows her teeth, crimson rolls. A puff of icy breath passes her lips.

Her small wrists look like they’ve been put through a shredder.

Her shirt is stained with dark substance. Golden waves are tangled into a twisted crown.

From the mirror, her hand reaches out. Talons are sharp, she wears a frown.

This monster I’ve created. Though no one else sees her— _ I do. _

When I smile, I feel her teeth. When I speak, I hear her voice. When I travel, I see her shadow.

She haunts me. I won’t do without her. My other side, call it DID.
