POEM STARTER
Write a poem in celebration of one of your achievements.
No matter how big or small, celebratory poetry can turn any accomplishment into an empowering event.
Mini Twists.
The time ticks,
The clock’s tongue clicks,
My fingers slick with hair gel,
My damn fingers fall asleep,****
As they weave through strands,
As they twist them together,
I have two sections left—
I honestly might weep,
It’s four AM,
Will I sleep?
Reattempts pile up,
Like four bricks,
That soar to the sky,
It slowly becomes,
Somewhat of,
What I had in mind,
It looks aright,
I will not weep,
I’m proud of myself,
And happy,
I tried something new,
Though it took two,
Grueling days,
I’m the outcome, I can tolerate.
(This might be a boring poem lol 😭but I wanted to write about how it took me two days and four attempts to put my hair in mini twists by myself)
