POEM STARTER
Write a blank verse poem on a topic that's important to you.
Blank verse poetry doesn't rhyme, but has a very strict structure which builds a melody through rhythm. (One way to create this is to structure each line with the same amount of syllables, and the same syllabic stresses, like you might if you were writing the verses of a song.)
Why?
What is ahead of me?
What is in the future?
Why is it dark all around?
Why did I put a blade to my skin?
Why didn’t I do anything with the blade when I wanted to?
Why didn’t I put my self in pain?
Why do I pinch myself to feel pain?
Why do I want to reach the light?
Why can’t I find them?
Why do I talk to nothing?
Why do i talk to someone?
Why is it there is a bright light then none?
Why do I have so many dreams?
Why do I like to roleplay?
Why do I want to know my purpose?
Why do I crave to have an embrace?
Why do I want to be loved?
Who do I want a lot then very little?
Why do I think about leaving?
I want to find the light
But yet I want the light to find me
I want to be pulled from my darkness
And fight my through
I want you I fight alongside my friends
To have better days
Ti help each other along the way
To not give up
To keep going
To not give into pain
To get away from reality
To experience a better place
To to everything im the hopes of…
Why?
Why do I live in this world?
