POEM STARTER
To my past self
Write a poem addressed to your past self
To My Past Self
To my past self,
It’s going to be okay.
It’s hard, I know,
But you’ll make it another day.
Dear twelve year old me,
The suffocation releases.
The abysmal is more bearable,
Even if it never ceases.
I get that it hurts,
I know that it’s tough,
Know how you cry at night,
and have had enough
But I’ll be here,
and no, you’re not broken
Though when I was your age,
it was never spoken
You’re furious, rage-filled,
Justifiably so.
But don’t hold petty grudges,
From so long ago
It’s fine to care,
To display your emotions.
But I’m so very sorry,
You can’t share your devotions.
Dear younger me,
I don’t envy you.
But trust when I say,
You make it through.
