I didn’t know who I was

When you asked me who I am

Because I wasn’t sure then

Like I am now

I didn’t know who I was

When I was teased for being me

But how could I be teased

For something I didn’t know yet

I didn’t know who I was

When the obvious was pointed out

Yet I denied it

Said it wasn’t like that

I didn’t know who I was

When I questioned myself

Tried to talk myself out of it

But I learned from that

Maybe I know now

Though I will never be certain

It will never be solid

It will always be moving

Maybe I know now

Because its an everyday topic

I am out of the closet

And It doesn’t seem so problematic

Because people have helped me figure it out

And i have written

Every step of the way
