I see you

And I realize

What friendship was meant to be

Its not transactional

Its unconditional

You love my highs and my lows

Just as I love yours

You listen to every word

As if you are starving for more

You look at me like I am stars myself

But in you I see the universe

Are we eachothers galaxy?

You gift me things

Which I reciprocate

But one is never the stop

You ask me what I want to do

I don’t have to ask first

You tell me I look cute

Even when i am a mess

You help me with the little things

My body can not handle

You offer up so much

Which I enjoy a bunch

I now realize what friendship is supposed to be

It’s isn’t one sided

Its more of a square

All the sides touching

Perfectly equal

So we each give and take

Our two sides of the story

It isn’t fake

You tell me its ok

Don’t make me push through

When Things get too hard

You listen to my pains, my aches

And offer up remedies

Instead of walking away

It isn’t transactional

You don’t expect to be repaid

And neither do I

We give and take

But not too much

And if we do

We talk it out

You helped me realize

What friendship is

And for that,
