Most people fear the dark, but I seek it.

It’s the only place my insecurities can’t be seen.

It’s the only place where I don’t feel judged because nobody can see me.

In the dark,

I am hidden.

My tears are concealed,

But they are still there.

In the dark, nobody will be able to see my body that I’m not satisfied with yet,

(It’s a work in progress).

They can’t see that my clothes aren’t expensive, and are just from Amazon, Target, and thrift stores.

Out in the light,

I am seen by the world.

And the world judges.

So I seek the dark,

Because I can hide.

But I’m not able to hide from the thoughts that occupy my head even in the darkest rooms.
