POEM STARTER
Submitted by Robin Marlowe
Write a poem about unseasonable weather. e.g. A warm day in the winter, or snow in the summer.
In Your Arms
Winter always seemed cold
But that was before you came along
You came along and suddenly winter was warm and fuzzy and loveable
I walked through feet of snow just to get the sunshine you provided.
But now it’s summer
And somehow instead of warmth, your eyes are cold.
Your arms no longer hold me endlessly and the warmth is gone
Even though summer is the season of heat,
I’m left with a cold heart as I walk away
You never would have walked away
I had to take the step
But that doesn’t mean I’m not still longing for the winter nights in your arms .
