POEM STARTER
Write a poem from the point of view of an eye who has seen too much.
I wish I could go blind
I have seen so many things
I wish to not have seen
My eyes have grazed upon
The grass of poison feilds
I have seen the words spewed of of throats
Said before thinking
But layed out for torture
Never never roped back in
I have seen my pain
The way the ache pulsates through me
Evelops me in dread
Somehow avoiding leaving me for dead
I have seen the world fall apart
A puzzle being stowed away
In the time and space
Of existence
I have seen my legs shake
As I gasp for air
begging to be able to seem normal
Longing for a way to not panic
I have seen too many hospital rooms
I am so used to needles
But pain does not affect
A body that doesn’t care
I have seen so much
Is it even worth seeing anymore
Or should I wish upon a star
“I wish I could go blind”
