Write an ode to an extinct animal, without ever saying the animal’s name - this rule also applies to the title.
We Did This
Why does man feel the need to ruin everything natural?
Myself? Broken
Global warming? Still rising
But you? They came after you?
Majestic creatures once roamed the earth,
And what did we do about it?
Go on a killing spree.
Paws sounding like drums, running across the savanna,
Pelt vibrant with color.
We can no longer see you,
And our children won’t see some which we know of now.
Why do we ruin everything?
On purpose,
Or not,
It doesn’t matter.
You’re gone,
you can’t came back.
We ruined it all.
And will continue to do so.
Unknowingly we all shout “Long live stupid decisions”.
And the world around us crumbles.
