Sunshine is brightening

Rain is calming

Clouds are sleepy

Wind is startling

Thunder is fear

Lightning is shock

Sun showers are hope

And rainbows are beauty

But what is fog?

Is fog sadness?

The kind that

Covers the horizon

Making it feel like

There’s nothing left?

Is fog anxiety?

Fogging everything,

Spreading rapidly,

And hiding every inch

Of daylight,

Eventually leaving everyone

In a panic?

Is fog a bad memory?

Lingering in the sky

Like a heavy weight

Causing people to

Break down under the pressure?

What is fog?

It coats the tips

Of the fall leaves

It lingers in the sky

Capturing the color

It brushes the tips of roofs

It spreads its wings

Enveloping the whole universe

In a gray shadow

Is it softening?

Or is it emptiness?

Is it waking up from a bad dream?

Or is it the feeling of dying inside?

Is it both?

Fog is a mystery

It is a confusing place

It is hard to escape

Once you enter a fog

Because you never know why

Or how you ended up there

Fog is the feeling

Of being lost

I was lost for a long time

And some days I still am

I never know the right thing

I never know how to manage

And satisfy everyone

I know I’m a different person now

But yet I still find myself going back

To my old habits

So really, some days I just

Don’t know where I am

Because there are some things

That are so hard to change

I keep calling for help

But no one really sees

What I need

And I’m scared

To say the truth

But maybe I’ll just stay

In the fog for a while

Maybe I just need time

To forget it all

To find myself again

Maybe I just need to let go

Maybe it’s time to close my eyes
