POEM STARTER

Write a poem based around the theme of Shattered Trust.

Halved Ribbon.

(This is for my prompt “halved ribbon”, and I’m redoing this prompt too)

We were bound

By the ribbon of life,

Not once unraveled,

Not trapped in strife,

The strip- silky, slipper red,

Tied our wrists in a bow,

Tight enough to bruise,

Deep in our skin, it was sewn,

Despite the digging pain,

Bound together, we happily stayed,

Though I failed to hear

The snip of your honed blade,

And the sound of your footsteps,

Running far, far, far away,

Hexing our connection, now halved,

When I thought you'd forever stay.

I'm free now,

But at what cost?,

If anything, my glasses are lost.

Our hearts were happy,

But now, mine is sickened,

As I stare at the halved ribbon.
