POEM STARTER

Poison.

Write a descriptive poem about something poisonous, and its effect on its target. This could be literal or metaphorical.

Pretty Pink Poison

Your words sunk into my skin,

Moved throughout my veins,

Stabbed their way into my mind,

Until I was yours.

You didn’t like seeing me grow,

So you stomped on my roots,

And blocked the sun.

Your lies spread through me,

_Consumed_ me,

And I thanked you all the same.

I never realized I was happily drinking your poison,

In its pretty pink nature,

Both deceitful and beautiful,

Much like yourself.

Your falsehoods took over me,

Until I was just a vessel,

A shell of my true soul,

Finally yours to control.
