The Mirror Was Shaking!

I got up in the morning and heard a knocking sound, I was confused, what is the noise came from? I stood up and checked the door, but no one was there and everyone’s door was shut and lights were off, only a few was bright, because I just realized it was only 5 P.M, I was frightened, then what is making that noise. I followed the noise and then I went in the bathroom, the moment I saw the mirror, ...

Alice

Alice in wonderland

This isn’t Disneyland

Don’t give me your hand

Are you caught in quicksand

Please just go away

The mad hatter is here to stay

I didn’t hear, what’d he say

Wind blows and then you sway

Mirror mirror on the wall

Alice looks like she’ll fall

Tell her to leave that’s all

She really isn’t very tall...

No Vacancy

The air was so thick with humidity that I could almost drink it. I wasn't sure what jostled me from the sleep that remained elusive due to the sweltering heat most of the night, but whatever it was, I was pissed at it. As my senses transitioned from my prior dream state to my begrudgingly awake state, I became aware that I was hearing something. It was the unmistakable staccato sound of knocking o...

inside looking out

Outside

I woke up to hear knocking on the glass. At first i thought it was coming from the window, then i realized it was coming from the mirror. How could there be a knock at the mirror? Am i hearing things? It’s early morning no one is home, i’m just waking up. I get out of bed and walk to the mirror above my makeup vanity. As if i hadn’t already knew there was nothing there, but her. Seeing mys...

Boy In The Mirror

At a young age I was taught about spirits. I could never know if they actually existed unless I had seen one myself. In movies they were always portrayed as something horrifying, angry, or tragic. Spirits hung around bothering others when something bad that happened kept them trapped after death. Their pain and their misery. That's how the story usually goes anyways.

It could just be a bun...

Hello

I woke up to hear knocking on glass. At first I thought it came from the window, then I realized it was coming from the mirror.

The knock echoed again — deliberate, sharp. I sat up slowly, heart lurching against my ribs like it already knew what I was about to see. Moonlight washed the room in silver, but the mirror across from the bed gleamed darker, like its surface drank the light instead of r...

A Tap At The Window

I lay in my bed staring into the darkness. There was no moon tonight so even the open window provided no light. It did however, allow a slight breeze to ruffle the curtains as it entered the room. The cool night air blew gently across the bed and cooled my sweaty body, hot from wrestling with the sheets. I began to plan my day as I lay there enjoying the cool, fresh air.

Suddenly, a strange feel...

Reflections May Vary

I woke up to knocking on glass.

Three taps. Sharp. Measured. Not wind or tree or dumbass bird.

Naturally, I figured window. I live alone, top floor, so either it was a drunk pigeon or a ghost with bad GPS. But when I turned my head toward the window—nothing. No breeze. No branches. Just the city yawning in the dark.

Then the knocking came again.

This time: tap-tap-tap.

Behind me.

Not Me

My peaceful night's rest was disturbed by a faint tapping. Reluctantly, I pried my eyes open, blinking rapidly, as I looked for the source. The room was still dark, just as I had left it; that couldn't be said about the rocking chair near my grandmother's antique mirror. It's home usually sat beside the mirror in front of the window, now it sits directly in front of it, facing it head-on.

As my h...

The Other Side

For my birthday, I got an old antique mirror. I was happy when I got it, after all it look like it came from a horror movie, so do it fit right in with the rest of my room decor. My mom made a big deal of telling me it wasn’t a portal to another world. Okay so I did have a bit of an active imagination, but this is real life. I knew the difference of the two.

My dad set up the mirror in my room n...
