The Old Days

Gilaranel

1 min read

My mom would tell me of the old days

Back when my brother lived and breathed

She would speak of the times boredom attacked

And how he never let it keep him down

His teachers would out him in time out

Because he could not stay still in his seat

They would make him sit outside by himself

No toys or games or friends nearby

They forgot those were luxuries to him

He could fight the boredom off by him...

The Burden of Memory

Gilaranel

1 min read

If only memory could be sent from brain to brain

You wouldn’t be able to twist your words for your gain

I would be able to argue back without any doubt

But instead, you sow that seed and use it to put me down

If only memory wasn’t faulty and got lost in my head

I hate only remembering the bad when I’m sad

While the good memories hide away everyday

It feels like looking through a library blindly...
