For me silence is not just an absence of sound

It’s a combination of experiences usually never found

While looking out my window I wished the birds would quiet down

Just so I can feel like I can hear the sunrays hitting town

Silence is a language that will never be spoken

Never will new frequencies hit my ear

Silence is a bond that will never be broken

Even when loudness feels so near

Stars are little bright spots in a pit of darkness

They show us everything we are and we are not

They highlight the sparkle that we might not see

They highlight freckles that we don’t leave be

They show us the ripples in the lake

They show us the big smile that we fake

They bring comfort to the ones who feel alone

And a beautiful view for the ones who feel home

As human beings we are afraid...
